FOR PRE-MED AND PRE-PA STUDENTS

My goal is to help you become 10,000x more comfortable with the EPIC EMR system before you start your clinical job as a TOTAL NOVICE!

Summary

As a medical scribe and occasionally as a medical assistant, you will take notes on patient encounters and enter them into your hospital or clinic's EMR (electronic medical record) system.

This is very different from the assignments we get as pre-med and pre-pa students. There are no step-by-step instructions on how to do this efficiently and succinctly.

You will most likely be able to shadow existing scribes to learn the ropes of your workplace, but eventually, YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN, and then it's sink or swim baby.

It’s not as scary as it may seem though. The key is to do a lot of practice and approach it with the right mindset!

Several different scribe companies help match you to hospitals and outpatient clinics in your area. ScribeAmerica is the most well-known one. But, there are advantages to going with a smaller scribe company. One such company is ScribeX, which offers free MCAT resources, Letters of Rec, and Med School interview practice as an incentive.
